Developer Loses $33K Monthly Revenue in Year-Long Battle with Apple

Viktor (@seraleev on X, formerly Twitter) shared his harrowing experience with Apple's App Store policies. One year ago, Apple abruptly closed Viktor's developer accounts, citing fraudulent activity. This closure froze $110,000 in earnings and cost him $33,000 in monthly recurring revenue.

Despite providing evidence of innocence and uncovering app cloning by another company, multiple appeals were rejected. Eventually, Viktor received his frozen funds but remained banned from the platform. Months of investigation revealed the account closure was due to a technical error - Apple had mistakenly associated his account with a previously banned company sharing a similar name.

Viktor has now filed a lawsuit against Apple, which claims no damages were incurred and seeks to recover legal costs from him. This case highlights the challenges small developers face when dealing with big tech platforms and their often opaque decision-making processes.
