Alexander Isora, a software developer, recently shared his disappointing experience with AppSumo on X (formerly Twitter). Despite earning $15,354 through the platform, Isora declares he won't be using it again, pointing to three main issues that soured the deal.
Alexander criticizes AppSumo's commission structure, which he believes to be around 70%, though he notes the exact amount was difficult to determine due to lack of transparency. He also expresses frustration with the type of clients attracted to the platform, describing them as bargain hunters rather than serious product users. The final straw was a staggering 33% refund rate, with 71 out of 210 customers requesting their money back, leading Isora to question AppSumo's value for SaaS businesses.
